Since we recommended this back in 2020, the residual sugar has come down from 12g/L to 9g/L, the proportion of Pinot Meunier in the blend has increased from 10% to 42% (the remainder Pinot Noir), and the price has only gone up by £1.50 a bottle. It's a good-value English sparkling rosé, made by Balfour Winery, on the Hush Heath estate in Kent, and given a year in the bottle on lees before being disgorged. A pretty pale, coral colour, it's all about the fruit – summer pudding in a glass, with sweet strawberry, red cherry berry flavours, some rose fragrance and a hint of pastry.
