Suntory from Farm, Tomi No Oka Petit Verdot, Yamanashi, Japan 2020

Petit Verdot is the Yamanashi estate's primary red grape and is considered one of the varieties that best reflects its hillside vineyards. The 2020 vintage was aged in 100% new French oak. Dark ruby in colour, it displays a sweet-spiced nose of blackberry jam, blackcurrant leaves and tar. Juicy and opulent on the palate, a soft grip of tannins supports dark berries, graphite and clove, with lovely freshness. The wood character melts into the youthful core of dark fruits.
