Suntory, Tsugaru Sparkling Extra Brut Rosé, Aomori, Japan 2019

Aged for 36 months in bottle with a dosage of 3g/L, this traditional-method sparkling was sourced from the Hirosaki area of Aomori Prefecture, the northernmost region of Japan's Honshu island. Pale gold in colour, it has a yeasty nose with creamy citrus peel and green apple notes. On the palate, honeyed lemon zest meets textured white peach and lemon curd, backed by good acidity and accented with touches of almond. Hints of sweet spice lead to a melony finish.
