Perrin's 'chicken wine', Vieille Ferme, has gone crazy on social media, and it is good value, but if you can spend a little more, this is a more interesting wine, and still very good value at the mix-six price of £10. A mix of Grenaches Blanc and Noir, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Vermentino, all vinified separately, it offers easy red berry, peach and watermelon juicy fruit and a hint of spice. It's not a complex wine, but will be a crowd-pleaser in any social gathering.
