Roman Leroy, Waitrose Loved & Found Caladoc Rosé, Pays d'Oc, France 2024

Waitrose’s Loved & Found range is full of great value, unexpected wines, like this enjoyable rosé expression of Caladoc, a crossing of Grenache and Malbec created in 1958 by ampelographer Paul Truel. It produces fruity, rich roses, with a herbal and spicy edge, of which this is a great example. One for summer salad and sandwich spreads.
