Those who prefer their white Bordeaux to be Sémillon rather than Sauvignon Blanc-dominant will enjoy this 100% Sémillon wine from the Graves appellation. A single-vineyard wine that has spent eight months in oak, it displays subtly smoky, clean lemon peel purity and a good length. The name 'calhavera' means a small pile of pebbles and stones, and is a reference to the famous gravelly soils of the Graves. Mix-six price: £12.99

Tutiac, formed in 1974, is one of the largest wineries in France. A single-vineyard Semillon, Calhavera's name refers, in the old regional dialect, to small mounds of pebbles or gravel. Floral nose and a smooth, rounded texture freshened by citrus acidity. A classic and rewarding white Graves. Showing the ripeness and generosity of the warm, dry 2022 vintage, this is ready now and will drink very well over the next 12-18 months.
